It was a good, solid, tough match between two evenly-fielded teams today when AHC Women's 4s took on Thame 4s at Home
Both Teams started off hustling and working the ball and the game went from one end to the other time & time again, with some good opportunities up front for our ladies, which we just couldn't capitalise on
We went in to half-time team talk 0-0 and unfortunately our Game Day Captain Sophie had been injured just before the whistle went which meant she was on the sideline for the 2nd Half
Both teams came out strong in the 2nd half with some great passages of play and some incredible defensive work from our strong defence & Katie our goalie but somehow one of the Thame players, at a last-minute ditch pass from the baseline hit the ball to one of her players but it missed everyone and at the tightest of angles somehow bobbled over the goal line between Katie's foot & post - the almost impossible goal was scored by Thame so they were now 1-0 up at 50minutes in
Rather than let our heads drop, we all put in a bit of extra effort and 2minutes later we scored a penalty corner and off a cracking hit at the top of the D, the ball was deflected beautifully into the top corner from Michelle
We continued to up our game, with strong pushes forward through the half-backs & midfield who worked superbly hard and launched balls to our forward line who time & time again pummelled the Thame goalie, but she was having a cracker of a game & we just couldnt capitalise on the opportunities
Thame tried to rally late in the 2nd half to score again but were denied and AHC Women's 4s walked away with a 1-1 draw, keeping our undefeated record so far this season intact!
