AHC Women's 4s continue their undefeated run with a 4-0 win at Home today against Wootton Wanderers but it was a slow start finding their stride in the first half, with a few missed opportunities and quick turnovers in attack, but they came out all guns blazing in the 2nd half and secured a strong win against a strong development team from Wootton.
At 22minutes into the first half, Mercedes Pascal (who was playing her first League game of the season) took AHC in the lead with a lovely touch over the line after some incredible team passing across the pitch from our halves, mids & forwards working around the opposition to line Mercedes up perfectly.
At half-time Captain, Michelle Robertson asked the team for more of the team passing & working the ball around the opposition as that's where we are strongest - and the team came out & did just that. With a strong hit to the goal by Hannah Porter at 40mins in, that was missed on the line by the opposition defender, AHC Women's 4s went 2-0 up.
It was 14mins later at 54mins into the game that Mercedes tapped-in another goal on the post from some great teamwork into the D, followed at 63mins into the game by another cheeky goal in a mad tussle over the line by Rosa Nkrumah.
AHC Women's 4s held on to enjoy another clean sheet, thanks to the strength of our defensive backbone & the skill of GK Katie Webb to take home the 4-0 win and enjoy a fantastic Team Teas together at the Clubhouse afterwards.
The Women's 4s enjoy a BYE next week and no game the following week, so will be well-rested for their next home game on the 2nd Nov against Thame.
